Southgate: Harry Kane Fantastic!
Gareth Southgate again gave the hint that Harry Kane will be made permanent England captain after mentioning that the player is the best attacker he has ever worked with.
Kane scored his 15th goal in all competitions this season and continued his impressive record and secured England’s victory over Lithuania despite their poor showing.
Tottenham Hotspur’s penalty goal striker was the seventh goal in six games and he admitted trying to captain at the upcoming 2018 World Cup in Russia.
“It was a fantastic record,” said Southgate.
“Quality of completion of the top level. Better than anyone who ever played with me.
“I do not doubt that if he has a chance then it will lead to the goal, and maybe he will soon score goals. We’re lucky to have it. ”
“I’m happy with the way he leads, by example on the pitch, and with the squad. I know everyone wants me to play the captaincy, but I need more time. “
